The formal bargaining process has begun! NASA has fulfilled its obligation under the Labour Relations Code and has begun the bargaining process by providing the University of Alberta with notice that we want to begin negotiations. A formal notice (by letter) was sent to the employer on January 12, 2024. The parties now have to meet within 30 days to start the bargaining process, and opening proposals will be exchanged shortly after that.
As many of you are aware, NASA has been preparing for bargaining for many months now, conducting a member survey, collecting information, and working on the proposals for consideration this round. Part of NASA's process is to provide information to the membership about the proposals we are taking forward. Please look for an announcement of this information meeting once your Bargaining Team has finalized the details.
