Canadian Labour International Film Festival

Join NASA and the Alberta Public Interest Research Group (APIRG) for a free screening of four short films that are part of the 16th annual Canadian Labour International Film Festival. The festival highlights stories of workers from around the world. Friends and allies from other unions and citizen interest groups will be in attendance. It will be a good opportunity for workers to come together to learn, share, and even laugh.

Wednesday, November 27 | 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Engineering Teaching & Learning Complex (ETLC) room E1-013

Please RSVP to let us know you're coming! Free snacks and beverages will be provided to attendees.

The films which will be screened are:

Adidas Owns the Reality: A fake fashion show fools NYC fashion week attendees and draws attention to Adidas' lack of commitment to ethical clothing production.
Counting Days: Ayano comes to Canada from Japan as a temporary foreign worker and tries to make a life here during the rising cost of living while on a limited-term Visa.
Forest for the Fires: The association between forestry management practices and an increased frequency of wildfires are examined in this thought-provoking film.
Having a Say at Your Job: An animated short film demonstrating how much better workplaces would be if owners and managers listened to the voices of the workers.

If you're not able to join us in person on November 27, you can watch any of the films on your own by registering for free online by clicking on the "pre-order now for free" button to receive an access link for the films.
